Step-by-Step Guide to Set Up a POP or IMAP Email Account on iPhone Outlook
Step 1: Open the Outlook App
- Download the Outlook app from the App Store if you haven't already installed it.
- Once installed, open the Outlook app.
Step 2: Add a New Account
- Tap the Home icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner.
- Then tap the Settings gear icon at the bottom.
- In the Settings menu, tap Add Account.
Step 3: Choose Add Email Account
- From the menu, select Add Email Account.
Step 4: Enter Your Email Address
- Enter the email address you want to add (e.g., [email protected]) and tap Add Account.
Step 5: Select IMAP/POP Settings
- When prompted, choose IMAP or POP as your email account type.
- IMAP is recommended because it syncs emails across multiple devices, but you can choose POP if you only want to download emails to your phone.
Step 6: Enter Email Server Settings

You’ll now be asked to enter your incoming and outgoing mail server details:
Incoming Server Settings:
- IMAP/POP Server: mail.mydomain.com.au
- Port: 993 for IMAP / 995 for POP
- Security Type: SSL/TLS
Outgoing Server Settings:
- SMTP Server: mail.mydomain.com.au
- Port: 465 or 587
- Security Type: SSL/TLS
Step 7: Enter Your Email Password
- Enter the password for your email account (e.g [email protected]) and tap Sign In or Next.
Step 8: Sync Your Account
- Once signed in, you’ll have the option to sync Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc.
- Choose what you want to sync and tap Save.
Step 9: Finish and Check Your Email
- Your email account should now be successfully set up. Open your inbox and check to ensure that your emails have synced.
